Featuring hand-painted art that reimagines traditional tarot symbols through a Latin American cultural lens, the Kimun tarot blends Latin American Themes, colors and mythology into classic tarot imagery, integrating Western & Middle Eastern traditions with indigenous South American iconography. This deck is a cultural fusion, rooted in decolonial perspectives and everyday stories, each card becoming a doorway into living myth, social memory, and spiritual reflection, offering a unique perspective on divination.
Born from original artwork by London -based artist Maria Battle, focusing on handcrafted, artistic interpretations, the Kimun Tarot deck and book were originally self-published in Lima, Peru, in 2022. The term "Kimün" originates from the Mapuche (Mapudungun) language, meaning "knowledge" or "wisdom".
