Personal Development

Personal Development

Personal development comprises activities that improve self-knowledge and identity, develop talents and potential, enhance quality of life and realise dreams and aspirations. The concept of personal development covers a wider field than self-development or self-help; it also includes developing other people, and by extension refers to the methods, programs, tools, techniques, and assessment systems used in personal development. From early advocates in self-driven advice, the connotations of the phrase have spread and often apply particularly to education, business, or psychological areas, purveyed through the popular genre of self-help books. Dale Carnegie (1888-1955) is sometimes credited with beginning the self-help movement in the twentieth century when he published How to Win Friends and Influence People in 1936. Having failed in several careers, Carnegie became fascinated with success and its link to self-confidence, and studied the subject for years. Carnegie's books have since sold over 50 million copies, alongside modern bestsellers in the field such as Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay and Anthony Robbins.

  • The Continuum Concept

The Continuum Concept introduces the idea that in order to achieve optimal physical, mental and emotional development, human beings - especially babies - require the kind of instinctive nurturing as practiced by our ancient relatives. It is a true ‘back to basics’ approach to parenting. Author Jean Liedloff spent two and-a-half years in the jungle deep in the heart of South America living with indigenous tribes and was astounded at how differently children are raised outside the Western world. She came to the realisation that essential child-rearing techniques such as touch, trust and community have been undermined in modern times, and in this book suggests practical ways to regain our natural well-being, for our children and ourselves. • Healing from Abuse: A Practical Spiritual Guide

Healing from Abuse: A Practical Spiritual Guide is a balm for the soul. The path of healing is awesome, yet the author, who has advanced along that very same journey herself, maintains that everyone who takes it up is somehow given the power and support to make a success out of it. This book is presented as a part of that support and that empowerment. In its pages the reader is introduced and gradually made familiar with the Spirit of their inner being, the reality so easily ignored and yet so powerful once engaged. The Spirit Within is not confined to any religion - it is within all of us, whether we know it or not, and nothing we can do or experience can get rid of it. To heal means taking back the power to love and to received love, that great purpose worth living for. It is this love that will restore self-worth and self-esteem from the ground up and from the inside out. Learn More

  • The Gift of an Angel: A Journey to Integrating Spirituality Into Everyday Life

This is a book about angels and angelic verification. It contains a true story and a channelled vibration of comfort and love. It has been channelled and written to assist with the realignment and the post-2012 'great shift' we are currently undertaking. This is also a book about the process of being able to channel messages and verify them, to have faith and surrender. It is about being on a spiritual path, about finding your lifes work, about being free but also having fun; it is about taking responsibility, to be able to laugh at absurdity and not taking all of this too seriously on the one hand and taking it very seriously indeed on the other. For being on a spiritual path is a journey to integration and joy, a journey in which we are the hero or heroine, however unlikely a label that may seem. And if it is as serious as that it is also as joyous and wild as that. The Gift of An Angel will inspire and assist anyone setting out on their own spiritual journey, especially if this includes the desire to connect to angelic realms. Learn More
