Creativity

Creativity / inspiration is a right-brain phenomenon in which profound insights, information and intuition burst through to waking consciousness in startling clarity. Virtually everyone experiences inspiration; individuals who work in creative occupations seem blessed with frequent bursts. Research by the American Society for Psychical Research (ASPR) in the relationship between creativity and extra-sensory perception (ESP) shows three shared principles: positive motivation, relaxation, and dissociation. The same factors may be said to apply to many mystical experiences as well.
Popularly associated with art and literature, creativity is also an essential part of innovation and invention and is important in professions such as business, economics, architecture, industrial design, music, science and engineering. Although the benefits of creativity to society as a whole have been noted, social attitudes about this topic remain divided. The wealth of literature regarding the development of creativity and the profusion of creativity techniques indicate wide acceptance, at least among academics, that creativity is desirable.
